Leoffenders en route for Montreal in April
Leoffenders will be going to Montreal for 10 days in April to record 4 songs with producer Mathieu Dandurand. There will also be a few small shows in the city, which is pretty exciting as this is new territory for Leoffenders, we will announce the dates as soon as we get them

Danielle will be in Nashville to record
as part of a solo project Danielle will be in Nashville for two weeks in February to work on new solo material.


Winding down the Olympic shows
We are still in the Olympic run of shows, but it nears the end, there is one more Leoffenders show on February 26th at the Place de la Francophonie on Granville Island, we will take part in the singer-songwriter night with two of our songs and one classic French song. Josée will also perform on the closing night show February 28th.

Leoffenders will now be performing at the Vancouver LiveCity Stage on Georgia Street downtown on February 14th at 3 PM, link to the official site on the calendar!

Danielle goes to Nashville to record music for Leoffenders. 5 bed tracks have been recorded, 4 of which are French songs intended to be produced for the Musicaction grant they received in December and the other one is an english song called 'if you don't tell'

As you likely noticed, there was no release party for the music video produced by Radio-Canada. The project was shelved because of the Olympic programming. We do not have information as to when this will take place in the future. We will let you know.

Leoffenders is awarded a recording and promotion grant from Musicaction for 4 songs
Wow! Leoffenders just received the news that Musicaction (the french equivalent of FACTOR) awarded us with a grant to record and promote 4 songs to the radio. The songs are Ma Tête, Demain, D'espace et de vent and the brand new Le temps qui passe.

Josée has become the proud mom of Charles Arthur Pierce. All went well and the mom and baby are doing great. Congratulations to Josée!

August 5 & 6 2009
Leoffenders went to Radio Canada to record the song Demain that was the first phase of the prize fro winning the Muziklips contest. We had Pierre Beaudoin as a producer and Richard Champagne was the engineer. The sessions went extemely well and everyone was really happy with the results!

Leoffenders plays two sets in the Whistler Village under the pouring rain to celebrate St Jean Baptiste. Josee and Danielle were accompanied by Elliot Polsky. Nina distributed free copies of the single Ma Tete. Despite the weather it was a fun show in the future Olympic village.

Leoffenders has a first pre-production meeting with the producer for the Muziklip contest the girls won earlier in May. It looks like the recording of the new song 'Demain' will take place in August and the filming of the video in November 09.

On May first the event : Le mai de la chanson commence aujourd'hui ( the month of may in song starts today) gets underway.

Josee and Danielle have been selected to be part of this event sponsored by Radio-Canada, ANIM, and "Operation Chanson". From May first to June 12 this event will showcase western Canada's francophone artists.
Radio Canada will prioritize the repertoire of the chosen artists, interviews will be aired and an interactive site is available. for more information visit :

Leoffenders just learned that they have won the Muziklip contest organized by the Radio Canada Vancouver. The contest gives the winners the chance to record a new song and shoot a music video for that same song. Amazing!

Leoffenders just came back from a wonderful concert in Ottawa. The group represented BC in the BC Scene festival organized by the National Arts Center of Canada. Josée and Danielle were joined by St Pierre and drummer Elliot Polsky and keyboardist Mathieu Dion. The show was a total success. Thanks to Michel Dozois from the CNA for the invitation and the superlative accomodations, dinner and fun all around.

Leoffenders shot short videos for the "Mai de la Chanson" event organized by Radio Canada Alberta. The event showcases a number of Francophone artists from Western Canada. Interviews and songs will be aired on the radio, a web site with the clips will be set up and more events are set around this celebration of music.

Les rencontres qui chantent
Wow... what a week...the Alliance nationale de l’industrie musicale (ANIM) and the Festival en chanson de Petite-Vallée join forces with the Francophone Cultural Centre of Vancouver and the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad, to present Les rencontres qui chantent in Western Canada.
March 4 2009
Première of the play Lentement La Beauté produced by the théâtre la Seizième in Vancouver in co-production with the Edmonton Francophone theatre. Danielle composed the music for the play and the show and the music were a huge success.

Décembre 2008
Leoffenders enregistre 5 chansons originales, font une session de photos avec le merveilleux Paul Mc Dermott, et lancent un premier site web embryonnaire pour Leoffenders.

Leoffenders présente un showcase éclair aux Western Canadian Music Awards à Edmonton. Le showcase est reçu avec grand enthousiasme. C'est lors de ce voyage que les filles décident d'appeler le groupe Leoffenders!
